For an Expedition trailer, a vehicle with a towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. is required. A Getaway trailer requires a vehicle with a towing capacity of 2,500 lbs. Both models come with an Anderson plug capability.

No, it is not required; however, it is highly recommended for the best experience while exploring or going off roading!

Trailers can vary significantly in height depending on wheel / tire options, roof rack, and tent selection. During your consultation, it’s always wise to measure the opening of your garage to ensure your trailer will fit, or help you plan for alternative accommodations.

A vehicle with an Anderson plug can charge while being towed. An Anderson plug is NOT standard on most vehicles, so this may need to be added. When overlanding, solar panels can be used, or shore power at your campsite when available.

Turtleback Trailers can accommodate almost any lithium battery.

Yes. A UV / carbon water filtration system is standard on all T3 trailers and is an option on T2 packages.

An Expedition trailer has a 42-gallon water tank, while the Getaway trailer has a 21-gallon water tank.

No, every trailer comes with a hitch receiver for your vehicle.

A standard trailer build will have roughly 24” of clearance.

Yes! Barring the doors aren’t submerged, a Turtleback Trailer will cross water with no issue.

Turtleback Trailers do not come standard with heating or air condition for the rooftop tents. There are several companies that manufacture units specifically for heating and cooling a rooftop tent.

It depends on the awning and tent, but typically it takes less than a few minutes to set up both.

With new advances in lithium batteries, they can now handle subzero temperatures. However, proper preparation for the cold is required. Appropriate sleeping systems, diesel heaters, and other camping necessities are still required for adventures in the cold.

PURCHASING / SHIPPING

Any prospective customer who flies to Nashville to visit our factory, meet our team, and purchases a Turtleback Trailer, will be reimbursed up to $750 in travel costs as a credit towards the final invoice.

Prospective customers can take advantage of our Fly to Buy Program, or Turtleback Trailers can ship the trailer directly to you.

Replacement parts are available by reaching out to our team at: sales@turtlebacktrailers.com.

Lead times vary, but the team is ready to build the trailer of your dreams. The standard lead time is 12 weeks. This is from the date of order confirmation to completion date at our factory.

Yes! There is an inventory of completed trailers at our factory. New inventory trailers are built weekly.

There are a few ways to view Turtleback Trailers in person. The Turtleback Team travels to various trade shows where the product and brand is proudly presented – see our upcoming schedule. You can also visit one of the Turtleback Trailer distributors, stop by the factory, or have one of our team members connect you with a Turtleback Trailer owner in your region.

As a veteran-owned and operated company, the Turtleback Trailers team proudly supports those who have served and are currently serving our great nation. Discounts for veterans are: $1,500 off all T3 trailers, $1,000 off all T2 trailers, or $500 off all Turtleback Shells.

Turtleback Trailers supports a variety of premium tent manufacturers and are happy to recommend tents based on your specific needs.

Turtleback Trailers are all roof top ready overland trailers. All trailers accommodate a tent to sleep on the top of the trailer. Turtleback Trailers does not manufacture a sleep inside trailer.

Yes! Each trailer uses a 6 x 5.5 lug pattern.

265 / 75 / R16 tires are standard on a Turtleback Trailer.
